Word 2013 saving RTF works Differently than 2010\2007 ? (on win8)

Having issues with Word 2013 on Win 8 \ 8.1.

When trying to save an RTF file using Office 2007\2010, all is great, but when using Word 2013 (on WIN8\8.1 only) to save the exact same fileall of the Arabic\Hebrew fonts get replaced with squares. [][][] - the English chars and numeric chars, appears normally though - this only happens if file is saved with MS-Word 2013, running on WIN8 \ WIN 8.1 - on win7, it works fine.

In addition, when comparing the file sizes, the Office2013's saved file is smaller in size compared to the office 2007\2010 ones by about 10%-20%.

Anyone else encountered this ? is there a bypass ?

Hi,

According to your description, I have tested it in my local environment (Windows 8.1 & Office 2013 15.0.4719.1000). The Arabic\Hebrew fonts were displayed correctly when I saved it as RTF format. Thus, if you did not installed the latest update patches, please try to install it and check if this issue is fixed.

In additional, [] Boxes show up when there is a mismatch between Unicode characters in the document and those supported by the font. Specifically, the boxes represent characters not supported by the selected font. Thus, please check the system fonts of Windows 8\8.1 environment.

If this issue still exists, would you like to share us a sample Word file?
